Paul Candel is the Chief Foreign Liaison and Travel Investigator at Spectrin. He was born in Lyon, France and attended the Université de Provence in Marseille, where he studied Sedimentology. His interest in Asian studies drew him to an exchange program in India, where he spent six years. He also spent time living in Burma (Myanmar) and Cambodia, and traveling extensively throughout the continent. Mr. Candel joined Spectrin in 1981 and simultaneously completed his Master's degree in Business Administration at Columbia University during his first two years in the U.S.

Fluent in 9 languages (French, English, German, Gujarati, Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali, Chinese, and Korean), Mr. Candel handles all of Spectrin's Asian correspondence and is often sent on field investigations throughout Nepal, Malaysia, India, and the Middle East. His business background allows him to feel at home in both the boardroom and the Himalayas, while his extraordinary talents for observation and communication earn the awe of clients and colleagues alike.
